Types of Research: Qualitative Research (Discussion)

Discussion?

- The overall motivation behind discussion is to be able to understand and put a label on the noteworthiness of all discoveries considering what was already revealed about the research issue which was investigated and to explain any new understanding or insights about a specific problem after the findings have been taken into consideration. The discussion will always connect to the introduction by way of the research questions or hypotheses you posed and the overall literature in which was reviewed. This does not simply repeat or rearrange the introduction; the discussion should always explain how your study has moved the reader's understanding of the research problem forward from where you left them at the end of the introduction.

Here are 7tips when it comes to group discussions:

Here is a group of people who are having a discussion:

Key things about facilitating a discussion as a means of research:

1. Most effectively demonstrating the ability as a researcher to be able to think critically when it comes to thinking about an issue, to be able to then develop creative solutions to problems based upon a logical synthesis of the overall findings, and then to formulate a deeper, more profound understanding of the research problem.

2. Being able to present the underlying meaning of all your research, noting possible implications in other areas of the study as well as exploring possible improvements that can be made in order to further develop all concerns of the research.

3. Highlighting the importance of your study and how it will be able to contribute to and or help fill existing gaps within the field. If appropriate the discussion section is also where you state how all the findings from your study have revealed new gaps in the overall literature that had not been previously exposed or described adequately.

4. Engaging the reader in thinking critically about all issues involved which are based upon an evidence based interpretation of findings, it's not governed strictly by objective reporting of information.
