What is a Photo Library?
- A photo library is a place where a collection or archive of photographs which are being held by a particular company or institute; this could be newspapers or organisations which pay photographers in their publications.
- An example of a Photo Library would be iCloud this works seamlessly with the new product Photo app to keep your photos and videos stored within iCloud and up to date with the following; iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac and iCloud.com. iCloud is currently available for their Photo Library with iOS 8.3 and later and even Yosemite 10.10.3 and later.
What is its purpose?
- The purpose of using photo libraries is the ability of being able to keep photos and videos this is useful in the creation of short films due to the fact that videos can be stores in that location. This therefore allowing everything to kept safely and easily found. For a director or anyone in the media industry having a photo library would be essential as it allows pictures to be reused for example; a random picture of the sun or even a video before proceeding to a scene this will safe time later on.
